Outside, hardly anything has changed, inside everything is almost new. The architects EM2N Zurich in close collaboration with Hürlemann Architects Zurich have rebuilt the headquarters of UBS at Bahnhofstrasse in Zurich. The UBS headquarters was a compact, impressive building listed as a historical monument. Inside, however, the remodeling over the decades had made it a confusing conglomerate in which orientation had become difficult. Creating clarity was therefore an important task of the architects.

As far as materials are concerned, EM2N was working between the existing structure and the claim of creating a modern, open building. Annette Douglas was working on the project from 2014-2018 and was responsible for the textile concept, mock-ups, and accompaniment implementation. On the ground floor in the foyer, Annette Douglas has designed a special silver-metal curtain. The upper floors feature functional sound-absorbing textiles with STREAMER pro and STREAMER pro matt. STREAMER pro matt has been specially designed to provide discretion in customer meeting rooms.
